About this site

ingvild.site is an independent publication launched in January 2025 by Ingvild Eydís Engebakken. It features blogposts and newsletters with content ranging from knitting to concepts within aesthetics and art reviews.

Who am I?

I am an art historian and have my masters degree in Art history and Visual studies from University of Oslo. I started this as a way to have an creative outlet for my thoughts and ideas in a situation of unemployment. We all know that knowledge, creativity and skills need to be used in order to be kept alive. So, here I am trying to keep my mind sharp while also giving myself a space to be me.

This will reflect who I am, what I do, and what I love. My guess is that you will see my honest thoughts and ideas around different artworks, concepts within aesthetics, and anything that I find beautiful or interesting. Not only that, but I am also a knitter. A quite new one, as I started knitting actively in January 2024. In a year I have grown a lot and I have far more skills now than before, leaving me with an urge to write about it. My intentions is to write posts that are informative and engaging, in case you are curious about a pattern or technique, all coming from a beginner standpoint.
